// EDITORIAL PROCESS

Standards & Process

London, 2026 — How editorial decisions are made at Ardolan Dispatch. Selection criteria, review procedures, source evaluation, and the principles that govern what is published under this name.

01 — Foundation

Editorial principles that govern this publication

Ardolan Dispatch operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

Ardolan Dispatch is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body.

The publication's focus sits at the intersection of energy management, rest patterns, low-energy eating habits, and body composition over time. All editorial content is framed as observation and informed commentary, not instruction. Articles published on Ardolan Dispatch are editorial in nature and reflect the writers' observations on everyday wellness practices.

01
Independence

No editorial position is influenced by commercial arrangements. Writers and editors receive no compensation contingent on favourable coverage of any subject.

02
Evidence-Informed Writing

Claims referencing published research are attributed to specific sources. Writers are expected to distinguish between preliminary findings and established patterns in the literature.

03
Transparency

Publication dates, revision dates, and author details are displayed on every article. Changes after initial publication are noted with a revision date and a brief explanation.

04
Proportionality

Headlines and summaries reflect the actual content of the article. No claim is amplified beyond what the cited sources demonstrate.

02 — Review Process

From pitch to publication: the five-stage review

01
Pitch Assessment

Topic and angle reviewed for relevance

Proposed subjects are assessed against the publication's focus areas and the existing archive. Duplicate coverage of recently published topics is generally declined unless a substantially different angle is presented. Pitches are evaluated by the commissioning editor within ten working days.

02
Research & Draft

Writer produces a sourced draft with attribution

Commissioned writers are expected to work from peer-reviewed research, published population surveys, or documented observational studies. Every substantive claim requires a corresponding source note. Personal observations must be clearly framed as such, distinct from referenced findings.

03
Source Verification

Independent verification of cited research

A second editor checks all cited sources against the original publications. Studies are assessed for sample size, methodology, and the directness of their relevance to the claim being made. Sources that do not withstand this assessment are either removed or reclassified as background context rather than direct evidence.

04
Copy Review

Language and framing checked for accuracy

The copy editor reviews the submitted draft for accuracy of framing, proportionality of claims, and consistency of tone. Language that overstates findings, assigns causality to observational data, or frames routine habits as universal responses is revised before publication.

05
Publication & Archiving

Final review, metadata, and archiving

The final draft is reviewed by the lead editor before publication. Author details, publication date, and source notes are attached. The article enters the archive on the day of publication and any subsequent revisions are logged with a revision date.

03 — Source Standards

What the publication accepts as evidence

Ardolan Dispatch organises its source hierarchy in tiers. Tier-one sources carry the most weight in establishing a claim; lower tiers are used as context or supporting material only.

Tier One

Peer-reviewed published studies with documented methodology, sample size, and conclusions. Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are given particular weight where available.

Tier Two

Population surveys and longitudinal observational data from established research bodies. Clearly framed as observational rather than causal.

Tier Three

Practitioner consensus documents, editorial commentary from established wellness publications, and expert interviews. Used as contextual material only, not as primary evidence for claims.

Sources the publication does not accept

Manufacturer-funded studies where the funding source is the primary beneficiary of the findings

Preprint studies without peer review, unless clearly identified as preliminary findings with appropriate caveats

Anecdotal testimonials presented as generalisable evidence

Social media posts, forum discussions, or unattributed online content

Studies with sample sizes too small to support the generalisations being drawn from them

04 — Content Notice

Articles published on Ardolan Dispatch are editorial in nature and reflect the writers' observations on everyday wellness practices. The content is not intended as professional advice, nor as guidance for the management of any specific condition. Readers with specific concerns about their daily routines are encouraged to speak with a qualified wellness professional.

We recommend speaking with a qualified wellness or nutrition professional before introducing any new habit or routine to your daily life, particularly if you have specific dietary requirements.

The content addresses topics including rest cycles and weight patterns, low-energy eating habits, sleep quality and body composition, afternoon energy slumps, and the relationship between consistent sleep schedules and nutritional behaviour. These are broad patterns drawn from published research, not individual assessments.

05 — Corrections

How corrections are handled

When a factual error is identified in a published article, the following procedure applies. The correction is assessed by a second editor who did not contribute to the original article. If the error is confirmed, the relevant passage is revised and a correction note is appended to the article with the revision date.

For substantive errors that affect the central argument of an article, the correction note describes the nature of the error and the change made. For minor factual corrections — dates, names, numerical values — a brief note with the revision date is appended without extended explanation.

The original text is not preserved alongside the correction. The revised version replaces it, with the correction note providing sufficient context for readers who encountered the earlier version.

Submitting a correction request

Correction requests are submitted by email to [email protected] with the subject line: Correction — [Article Title].

The request should identify the specific passage, explain the error, and where possible provide a source supporting the correction. Correction requests without supporting sources are still reviewed, but take longer to assess.

All correction requests receive an acknowledgement within five working days. Final determination is communicated within fifteen working days of the request.

06 — Conflicts of Interest

Disclosure and commercial relationships

Writers and editors contributing to Ardolan Dispatch are required to disclose any commercial relationship with a person, product, or organisation covered in their writing. This includes direct financial relationships, advisory roles, equity holdings, and ongoing consulting arrangements.

Disclosed conflicts do not automatically preclude publication. Where a conflict exists and is judged not to affect the substance of the piece, it is noted at the end of the article under an "Author Disclosure" heading. Where a conflict is judged to compromise the independence of the writing, the piece is either reassigned or declined.

Ardolan Dispatch does not accept payment from any organisation in exchange for editorial coverage, positive framing, or omission of critical information. The editorial team does not receive commission or other benefits tied to reader actions following article publication.
